Zombie Juice, one-third of hip hop trio Flatbush Zombies, released a freestyle to document all the current madness.
In 'Quarantina Freestyle 01', Zombie Juice samples a beat from 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman...', a song off of the 1983 Bollywood film Jyoti (which was also sampled by DJ Quik on the song 'Addictive', performed by Truth Hurts & Rakim).
The lyrical concept encompasses, among others, Kobe's death, the water problem in Flint and the COVID-19 crisis, yet there's an attitude of apocalyptic renewal in his bars too. ("This ain't the end//Just the shift, the cycle begins - immortal staring at myself through this portal").
Despite most of the world being on some kind of lockdown or restriction, the creative juices of these artists keep on flowing.
